A Guide to the Solar Plexus Chakra

Introduction to the Solar Plexus Chakra

    January 6, 2020 · Energy

Continuing our way downwards, the solar plexus chakra (Manipura) is situated just above the naval. The third chakra is the centre for confidence, the expression of free will, vitality, and energy. This chakra is represented by a vibrant shade of yellow. Its symbol is an inverted triangle in a circle, surrounded by 10 lotus petals.

Introduction to the Solar Plexus Chakra

This chakra is all about our ability to assert ourselves in the world in a way that is confident and brave, without allowing the ego to take hold. It governs our ability to have faith in ourselves and exert our personal power. It also helps us boost our mental energy and inner sense of vibrancy.

Keep reading to find out what the solar plexus chakra represents and how to spot signs of imbalance in this chakra.

A Guide to the Solar Plexus Chakra

The crown chakra represents higher consciousness, the third eye chakra intuition, the throat chakra communication, and the heart chakra love. The solar plexus chakra is all about energy – mental and physical. Each of these chakras works together to bring us closer to finding balance in our lives.

Signs that this chakra may be blocked or imbalanced include the following:

    • Insecurity and battles with self-confidence
    • Struggles to feel worthy or ‘good enough’
    • Inability to deal with criticism
    • Feelings of helplessness
    • A lack of purpose in life
    • The need to control everything in your life

Balancing this chakra can be done with guided or solo meditation, affirmations for confidence, journaling, and other reflective practices. Affirmations for this chakra include:

    I am strong and capable.

I can take on any challenge in my life.

I  have what it takes to fulfil my goals.

    I honour my inner power.

    I radiate energy and vitality.

Essential oils for the solar plexus include lemongrass, lemon, and bergamot. Crystals include citrine, yellow labradorite, tiger’s eye, and yellow opal. You can also try an energising yoga sequence to open up this chakra.
